Walker Hayes’ ‘boom.’ bangs
I loved their sound and bought just about everything but once the 80’s rolled around I became disenchanted. I’m a woman, and I can appreciate the attractive qualities of some of the band members, but the excessive ranting and ravings of some of their female fans really put me off. That’s all fine and good between the 12 to 17 age group, but these women were over 35 and very scary. Get over it people. These guys have lives and the gigs are a job to them. It’s sad to see these under-dressed, overly made up, over the hill, past their time wanna-have his baby types make fools of themselves. The shows have been the same for the last 35 years anyway, even the dialouge and banter. While I enjoy their music, I feel the band has stagnated. They need to change the show, If the insist on the same material, I suggest dropping the Vegas stage act.

It is stamped “Little Wonder” but it has 22 frets, and I thought that the Little Wonder had less then Do you have any ideas about when my banjo was made? The condition of this high end instrument is excellent plus and this guitar is simply wonderful. Only the highest grade woods used as you can see This guitar shows very little fret wear. There are just a few minor nicks or scratches which is normal wear for a guitar of this vintage that has been lovingly played. This one is a one owner adult owned guitar and comes with its high quality custom hard shell case too. With room-filling projection, the CY is a guaranteed conversation starter.
You hear it in the elegant pacing of a classical air. You see it in the vivid charm of a folk dance.

The first two releases appeared on King in November of that year, but the King Record Company was not officially incorporated until August of Syd Nathan started the company to exploit a niche market that the major record companies were not filling. He provided country music recordings for the many Appalachians that had migrated north to work in the manufacturing plants in the Midwest, and for the first year the only releases on King were country and western recordings. King continued to operate there until the label was sold after Nathan’s death in

Jun 22, The oval green label with the crown as well as the lack of ornamentation indicates lower end model made in the s or early s. Higher end pre-War Regals had a fancier logo and post-War instruments came with a blue oval logo. The tuners appear to be enclosed so are more than likely replacements as these do not start showing up on any but the most expensive of guitars until the late s.
As already noted you might get lucky and be able to identify the style in a catalog. Happened to me recently when I bought a guitar with no ID on it. Odd looking thing with an oval soundhole and pickguard. It showed up in the Montgomery Wards catalog and turned out to be a Regal-made Recording King Style which were offered between and In this case I lucked out as apparently these are rare as hen’s teeth. But often about all you can do is narrow it down to a decade. When talking about Regals about the only ones that have any real value are the spruce top jumbos or very ornate smaller body instruments.
Your guitar does have a spruce rather than birch top which is a big plus when it comes to desirability.

It’s that kind of shocking revelation that can change your whole world in a nutshell and make everything important seem like so many hot air balloons wafting overhead. Luckily, it seems as though very few bands actually had a hit with “Radar Love” in and everybody else is simply cruising through life dependent upon an overriding public belief that it’s okay not to have had a hit with “Radar Love” in I can forgive the public for feeling this way, but I will never forget.
There’s a very good reason for this lie.
Harmony made fretted instruments accessible and welcoming – with products ranging from archtops, flat-tops, electric Spanish, Hawaiian bodied guitars, to ukuleles, banjos, mandolins, violins and more.
The company is famous as the first manufacturer of resonator guitars, which were hugely popular in blues and a bit later bluegrass music. National merged with the Dobro company, another maker of resonator guitars, around to form the National Dobro Corporation. The company began producing electric instruments in the s that included electric guitars, lap steels, mandolins and amplifiers.
These pre-war electric instruments are fairly rare today, though the lap steels pop up with some regularity. The archtop bodies for the guitars were sourced from Regal and then from Kay, but the electronics were developed and manufactured by National-Dobro. National-Dobro was reorganized into the Valco company in Manufacturing of resonator guitars ceased with the introduction of metal rationing in World War II, and the focus was placed on Spanish- and Hawaiian-style guitars and amplifiers.
Starting in , a new serial number system was adopted that allows for reasonably accurate dating of instruments. Valco quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of lap steels, alongside Magnatone, Gibson and Rickenbacker, and the company also sold acoustic guitars with National necks and bodies by Gibson. A number of electric archtop models were sold with bodies by Gibson, Harmony and Kay, but fitted with Valco-made pickups, hardware and necks. Guitars sold under other brand names, such as Oahu, generally followed Supro stylings.

Regal R Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar, made by Harmony , made in Chicago, serial , sunburst lacquer finish, laminated maple body with laminated spruce top; maple neck with ebonized fingerboard, black chipboard case. In an odd historical convergence of famous fretted names this Harmony-made guitar-though branded with the venerable Regal name-was actually built specifically for Fender sales.
The Regal R was one of the first -and most interesting- Harmony Meteor variants, and is a product of a little known partnership between Fullerton and California. Don Randall of Fender Sales announced a Regal-branded line of Harmony-built acoustics to the trade in October at the time Fender itself offered only solidbody electrics and amps.
Several Regal hollowbody electrics were added the next year to supplement the company’s solidbodies, thus giving Fender Sales a more complete line. It does have some interesting specific “Regal” features: The large celluloid truss rod cover and switch plate appear to be made of the same “green” nitrocellulose as period Fender pickguards. Scale length is 24 in.
Very fine original condition overall; some light wear but not a lot of signs of use. There are marks on the top in the bridge area where it was once glued down, and the nut has been recut and polished. Other than that all original, and a really nice playing harmony to boot!
